One person is dead and three others were seriously injured after a car crash at a major intersection in Griffith Park early Sunday.
The California Highway Patrol received a call at 12:50 p.m report a crash on the eastbound 134 Freeway with the southbound 5 Freeway, officials said.
The LA City Fire Department also responded and found a victim who had been ejected from the car due to the force of the collision. Two other people were still trapped in the car and firefighters were able to use hydraulic rescue tools to free them.
A fourth driver was able to get out of the vehicle on his own.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. Three others were taken to hospital by paramedics, one in serious condition and two in critical condition.
A SigAlert was issued for the transition road at 01.00. All lanes were cleared at 05.02, according to the CHP.
