A male victim was pronounced dead and two men were seriously injured within minutes of each other Tuesday night on the South Side, Chicago police said.
Around 6:30 p.m., a male victim was fatally wounded in a drive-by shooting in the 7100 block of South Yale Avenue in the Englewood neighborhood. The victim, whose exact age was not available, was on the sidewalk when a vehicle drove by and fired shots at the victim, striking him multiple times, police said.
The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and head. He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Just before 6:55 p.m., a 33-year-old man was injured in the South Shore neighborhood in the 7800 block of South Colfax Avenue, police said. The man was standing in the street when someone opened fire and hit him in the stomach. He was taken in critical condition to UChicago Medicine.
Shortly after 7 p.m., a 57-year-old man was in a parked vehicle in the 700 block of South California Avenue when someone shot him in the head and neck, police said.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. A firearm was found at the scene.
