ICM – Erickson wants to stay
Six months after Christian Eriksen asked to be sold to the club, he has expressed his desire to stay at Inter Milan.
Speakers, Manchester United, Wolves and Leicester have all been linked with a move for the Denmark international earlier this season.
But now that the Italian has found his footing and helped the club win its first Serie A title in 11 years, Erickson is keen to help San Siro ‘build something beautiful’.
“When I arrived, I was eager to learn new things,” Erickson told Delo Sport. I did not understand that I should always follow the Conte system.
I was free to make decisions based on what I had seen before. It had to do with emotions. Now we have a general plan to follow. We need to be ready, we need to know where our teammates are and where they are going. I had to learn all of this and adapt to a different pace.
“We talked in January, and I’m sure I can do it. I have no revenge, just play football. Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it doesn’t. This is a fast-changing sport almost every week. Six months ago I was living in a different situation, now we have a trophy and I can really say I am happy here on Inter.
“It was difficult to raise this topic, but we did it with four games left. It’s a good start, now we can start a new cycle… It will be difficult to win nine titles in a row, but we will try to build something beautiful. Conte is also very important to each of us, to our game. We follow him and they see him on the field.
“Everyone is very happy to have won with him. But his duration does not depend on me – he depends on the club and him.”
