Bask in Waterfalls or Hammam at a 14-Bedroom Villa in Spain’s Balearic Islands

Listing of the Day

Location: Palma, Mallorca, Spain

Price: € 26 million (US $ 28.47 million)

This 14-bedroom villa in the exclusive residential enclave of Son Vida on the Spanish island of Mallorca offers a wealth of resort-style amenities, including a large swimming pool with waterfalls, a tennis court, a sports center, extensive gardens, a party lounge and a separate spa with a hot tub and hamman.

“It’s a very unique property,” said listing agent Carolynne Millington, of Engel & Völkers Palma Surroundings & Son Vida. “First of all, it’s a large plot of land, which is not so usual here. It is very park-like, with beautiful landscaping. ”

“You have extraordinarily pretty views from the villa over the Golf Son Vida course,” she said. It overlooks the 18th hole.

From the front door, you step into a gracious entrance hall with marble floors.

Known as Castello M, the two-story villa was built in 1988 and has recently been updated and modernized.

It features a “neoclassical design with Arabic influences,” Ms. Millington said. “It was built for a Lebanese gentleman — that’s why you see the Arabic touches.”

The villa has a “very impressive entrance,” she said. You come through a forged-steel gateway onto a long driveway lined with 11 tall palm trees.

From the front door, you step into a gracious entrance hall with marble floors. To the left are the living and dining areas, including what the owner calls the champagne room, which is designed for entertaining, Ms. Millington said.

An area to the right of the entrance hall leads to a sleek new kitchen, with an office area behind it.

The upper floor holds the primary bedroom suite and the other guest suites. Each of the bedrooms has access to a second-floor terrace that overlooks the main terrace and the pool.

There is also a barbecue house with a bar and lounge, a pizza oven, an open wood grill and another large terrace.

The current owner bought the villa four or five years ago, Ms. Millington said. “He has done a substantial refurbishment and added new technology. He invested in the gardens, too. The villa has extraordinarily beautiful gardens. ”

With its high and illuminated ring of walls, the villa is quite private, she said. “Nobody can look into the property.”

“Most villas here are modern, very cubic, with lots of glass,” she said. “This is a totally different style, more Mediterranean.”

The 26,910-square-foot villa has 14 bedrooms and 14 full bathrooms. It sits on a 2.18-acre lot.

Amenities include a swimming pool with waterfalls, several illuminated fountains, a tennis court, a party lounge, a separate spa with a hot tub and hammam, a sports center, smart-home technology, a large fireplace, two workshops, a four-car garage, an electric car charging station, solar panels, a water treatment system, video surveillance and central heating and air conditioning.

Neighborhood Notes

Son Vida is a “semi-gated luxury residential area that’s known as the Beverly Hills of Mallorca,” Ms. Millington said. “There is only one road in.”

Most of the homes surround the Golf Son Vida course, which dates to 1964, and the neighborhood has two other golf courses as well as two five-star hotels, she said.

It’s a 10-minute drive to the old city in Palma and a 15-minute drive to the airport, she said.
