Turkish Airlines, Gol Reach Codeshare, Frequent-Flyer Deal

Turkish Airlines and Brazilian low-cost carrier Gol have signed a codeshare and frequent-flyer partnership agreement, the companies announced Monday.

Passengers on Turkish Airlines flights from Africa, Asia and the Middle East can purchase through the company’s sales channel connecting flights operated by Gol to its Brazilian destinations as well as to Asuncion, Lima, Montevideo and Santiago, according to Turkish Airlines, which currently operates seven daily flights to São Paulo.

In addition, members of the carriers ‘loyalty programs — Turkish Airlines’ Miles & Smiles and Gol’s Smiles — will be able to redeem and earn miles for flights on both airlines. Redemption will begin first, followed by accrual benefits at a later date.

The terms of the agreement will go into effect once approved by the Brazilian authorities.
