According to Forbes, Gautam Adani has surpassed 91-year-old billionaire Warren Buffett to become the fifth-richest person.
Adani, the 59-year-old Chairman of the Adani Group, has a net worth of $ 123.7 billion, while Warren Buffett’s net worth is $ 121.7 billion. As shares of Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway fell 2% on Friday amid a broader decline in the US stock market, Adani surpassed him.
As per Forbes, Adani’s estimated net worth puts him $ 19 billion ahead of Reliance Industries Ltd chairman Mukesh Ambani as India’s richest person.
Only four persons on the planet are wealthier than Adani. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates ($ 130.2 billion), Bernard Arnault, the French luxury goods king ($ 167.9 billion), Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ($ 170.2 billion), and Tesla CEO Elon Musk ($ 269.7 billion) are among them.
