A 47-year-old man was fatally shot inside a Brooklyn subway station Wednesday night, according to police.
The victim was on the mezzanine of the Rockaway Avenue station on the C line near the MetroCard machines when he was shot in the head shortly after 11 p.m., police and sources said.
The man was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
No arrests have been made.
Authorities were looking at video surveillance late Wednesday to identify a suspect.
The fatal shooting is the latest in a spate of subway violence to hit the Big Apple.
A machete-wielding suspect is suspected stabbed a 31-year-old man on a Bronx subway Saturday, leaving the victim with head and arm injuries, police said at the time.
And a stranger attacked a 16-year-old straphanger on another Bronx subway early Tuesday morning after he picked a fight with the teenager.
The teenager was cut in the back of the head by a massive blade, police sources said.
