Authorities identified the pedestrian as Joaquin Soraes, 82. He died from his injuries, the Norfolk District Attorney confirmed in a statement.
The crash happened on Central Street, between Turnpike and Lincoln Streets in Stoughton around 6:14 p.m., police said. The driver, who has not been publicly identified, stopped at the scene, the DA said.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing, the DA said. As of Sunday, no charges have been filed.
