A huge increase in Covid cases every day since March


Covid disease across Leicestershire is declining according to the latest figures published today.

There have been 98 new cases confirmed in the city and County in the last 24 hours with 55 new cases in Leicester and 43 spread to various counties in Leicestershire.

These figures show the total number per day since March 31, when there were 111 cases, and come after it has been confirmed that Indian disease is the biggest problem in the city.

Charnwood has had the largest number of winners in Leicestershire counties in the last 24 with 16 new cases, followed by Blaby with 10.

A single increase in numbers was confirmed in each council area with six cases in North West Leicestershire, four in Hinckley and Bosworth, three in Melton, two in Oadby and Wigston and two in Harborough.

The new lawsuit, which was updated today at 4pm, means the same the number of cases throughout the County and County since the outbreak of the epidemic and the regions are :

  • Leicester: 37,514

  • Blaby: 7,179

  • Harborough: 5,212

  • Hinckley and Bosworth: 6,224

  • Oadby and Wigston: 21 cases per 100,000 (13)
