A428 crash: man rushed to hospital after BMW rolled over in crash on great Cambridgeshire road

A man was hospitalized this morning after a BMW M4 overturned on the A428 Eastbound near the Cambourne junction.

Police and ambulance teams were dispatched to the scene after the vehicle overturned at 8.47 am.

The overturned vehicle blocked the main road at the roundabout near Cambourne Business Park, and the road has been closed to traffic since 10:30 pm while the rescue was being carried out.

The road was closed to traffic for about an hour and 20 minutes.

Traffic is slow on the A428 and the road is partially closed.

A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “Just after 9am today, a senior paramedic was involved in a car accident on the A428 in two ambulances and a support vehicle.

“An adult man was transferred to Hinchingbrooke Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.”

Traffic was initially held for about 10 minutes at 9.20 am this morning and was shut down again at 10.30 am.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area and use the A1198 North – A14, junction 24 instead.
