It’s officially the end of an era for one of America’s most famous rock bands, as Aerosmith announced to fans on social media on Friday that the band has toured forever, effective immediately.
The post comes with several tour dates, including a stop in Chicago in January 2025, on the band’s schedule prior to the announcement.
The band cites a vocal injury from lead singer Steven Tyler as the predominant reason for their withdrawal from touring.
Hailing from Boston, Aerosmith was established in 1970 and has released 15 studio albums, their most recent coming in 2012.
During their illustrious career, Aerosmith had at least one top-10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in four straight decades, from the 1970s to the 2000s. The band had a number one hit, “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” in 1998, a power ballad that was released on the soundtrack of “Armageddon,” a sci-fi movie starring Bruce Willis.
