Boston police arrested a 17-year-old boy for armed robbery in Allston on Sunday night.
The suspect attempted to steal a moped, BPD said in a statement.
A group of people allegedly tried to steal the victim’s moped around 11:10 p.m. One of the thieves pulled out a knife and threatened to stab the victim, police said. The victim disarmed the suspect, then the suspect began beating him.
Officers responded to reports of a fight “involving a large group and a knife” near the Allston Street T stop. When they arrived, they found the victim physically holding the suspect down, the department said, and officers immediately placed the suspect in handcuffs.
BDP arrested the suspect and charged him with criminality; armed assault with intent to rob, according to the department. He was due to be arraigned in Brighton District Court.
