Andrews’ pandemic bill to ‘compromise’ Victoria’s recovery

Victorian Shadow Treasurer David Davis said the Andrews government’s proposed pandemic bill would “endanger the state’s recovery”.

“We think there is a need for certainty and predictability associated with recovery, and this bill is not going to provide that,” Sky News presenter Peta Credlin told Live Science.

“Actually it’s a curfew bill and the Prime Minister will use it over and over to lock up people.”

Mr Davis said the Victorian opposition plans to propose 18 amendments to check and balance the law.

“He can’t fix the bill, there are too many wrongs on the bill,” he said.

“And we will fight, we will fight and we will fight in the legislature to stop this wicked quarantine law from being passed.”
