Angelina Jolie looking forward to a new chapter by leaving Los Angeles, but she has to wait because of her divorce with Brad Pitt.
Born and raised in the City of Angels, the ‘Maria’ actress is now counting down the days until she can move abroad. Jolie told “The Hollywood Reporter” the only reason she’s still in town is “because I have to be here after a divorce.”
The Oscar winner and Pitt’s twins, Vivienne and Knox, turned 16 in July, while the couple’s other children are all of legal age.
“But as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to go,” she explained.
The twins will reach that age on July 12, 2026, leaving her a little under two years stuck in L.A. As for where she’s going next, Jolie could be on the other side of the globe.
“I’m going to spend a lot of time in Cambodia,” she said, where she adopted her oldest son, Maddox. She also plants to “spend time visiting my family members wherever they are in the world.”
Jolie cited a desire for “integrity” as the main reason for wanting a change of scenery.
“When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, security,” Jolie explained. “I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … the humanity that I found all over the world is not what I grew up with here.”
Jolie declined to provide details about the divorce in her “Hollywood Reporter” interview as the legal battle continues. The ex continues to argue in court about custody, finances and ownership French winery Château Miraval.
