Anna Delvey is not happy with the latest criticism from the co-hosts of “The View” — in effect, she demands that they issue a correction.
The ankle monitor-wearing, convicted fraudster became a hot topic on the talk show on Thursday after this week’s announcement that she will compete on “Dancing With the Stars.”
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin pounced on the casting of the 33-year-old fake heiress, lamenting that she is being rewarded for bad behavior and has not shown appropriate remorse for her actions.
“I’m here for a release arc, not a rehabilitation arc,” Griffin said, going on to compare Delvey to other convicted felons like Martha Stewart and Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who she said have “taken responsibility for what they did wrong.”
“I’m not convinced about that [Delvey] have,” Griffin continued. “She still owes people money. And scammers tend to stay scammers!”
After a video of the segment was posted on social mediaDelvey wasted no time taking the ladies to task in the comments section.
“While you are entitled to your own opinions, you should at least get the facts,” she tweeted on Friday. “I served my time and paid everyone back in full 3+ years ago. Looking forward to your correction on air.”
Delvey, subject to Netflix scripted series “Inventing Anna”, where was convicted in 2019 of defrauding nearly $300,000 from friends, hotels and financial institutions over a period of four years. The charges against her included various degrees of grand theft and theft of services.
The Russian-born German citizen was was released from immigration detention almost two years ago and put under house arrest. She is currently awaiting deportation to Germany.
The new season of “Dancing with the Stars” premieres September 17 on ABC and Disney+. Delvey has confirmed she will continue to wear her ankle monitor while competing on the show.
