As reported on News Center 7 at 5:00 a.m., Troy City Schools announced they will dismiss two hours early on Tuesday, August 27th and Wednesday, August 28th.
This also applies to all Upper Valley Career Center students who attend Troy City Schools, the district said.

As News Center 7 previously reported, an extended stretch of highs above 90 is expected for the region this week.
This is called a heat wave because of the expected three or more consecutive days of highs above 90.
As long as the forecast confirms, this will be our third heat wave in 2024.
Eight of the nine schools in the district lack air conditioning. Parents know firsthand how hot it can get inside the buildings.
“Even when we had an open house. Just going in there for a little while to meet the teachers. It’s very hot,” said Kim Wehrkamp
Wehrkamp is a stay-at-home mom who says the schedule change isn’t a big deal to her.
“I’m very blessed to be able to pick up my kids and make that arrangement. “Oh, they go out an hour earlier or two hours earlier” or whatever. You know, I can do it, Wehrkamp said.
News Center 7 asked Troy City Schools Superintendent Chris Piper what he would say to families who have to change schedules.
“We certainly understand that, which is one of the reasons we try to announce these types of things as soon as possible,” Piper said. “Sending kids home from school is never fun. We want our kids in school, but days like this or days in the winter, we really understand that parents have to make arrangements. So that’s why we try to give as much notice as possible. “
Piper said they will keep an eye on Thursday and Friday and adjust as needed.
Troy voters approved a bond issue in November that means as long as things move on the district’s timeline, every building in the district will have air conditioning for the 2027-28 school year.
