Officers were seen crouching behind cars on Dominion Rd in Hamilton, Nawton, on Friday afternoon.

Armed police cordoned off Hamilton street and surrounded a house after a man pulled a gun.

Police were called to a home on Dominion Rd in Hamilton, Nawton, at 12:47 p.m. Friday.

While armed police closed the road to traffic, dozens of police were at the scene.

A resident in the area said he opened his curtains to see the piles of police outside.

Armed police surrounded a house and advised the person inside that they were under arrest and to get out.

An AOS member was spotted running between properties on a small ladder on a nearby side street.

However, the resident said that the person did not cooperate.

On the street, four police officers were seen crouching behind police cars, and a wheelie bin was moved for shelter.

There is also a dog team at the scene.

Citizens were asked to stay away from the area.

Dozens of police were at the scene and Dominion Road was closed to traffic.
