Amazon ECS Anywhere offers consistent tooling and API experience for containers deployed in AWS, on-premises, and cloud-based environments
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the general availability of a fully managed container orchestra service: Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) Anywhere.
Developers can build and run applications faster and more reliably through containers while simultaneously reducing costs and increasing resource utilisation.
The new Amazon ECS Anywhere, available as a feature within Amazon ECS, provides businesses with consistent tooling and API experience in their Container-based applications.
The new functionality enables businesses to run, measure, and secure on-premises application containers using the same APIs, cluster management, workload scheduling, monitoring, and deployment of pipelines that they have access to Amazon ECS to AWS through a common control plan.
“With Amazon ECS Anywhere, customers no longer have to run, update, or maintain their own container orchestrators in place,” AWS explains.
“Customers simply create an activation key to register their virtual machines or bare metal servers, install the AWS Systems Manager agent and the Amazon ECS Anywhere agent on their on-premises servers, and then deploy and manage their applications on Amazon ECS Anywhere. ”
Siemens, Infosys, HCL, Gaggle, and Getir were among the early adopters of Amazon ECS Anywhere.
“Our clients are increasingly looking for the same experience of cloud managed services over their private infrastructure. With Amazon ECS Anywhere, businesses can take advantage of container elasticity, security and reliability in their in -place environment. there is ease of cluster management from a single glass pane, ”said Shaji Mathew, executive vice president of Infosys.
Like other AWS products, Amazon ECS Anywhere requires no upfront fees or commitments, and only customers pay for the services they use.
AWS VP of Compute Services Deepak Singh said: “At Amazon ECS Anywhere we pride ourselves on giving our customers exactly what they asked for – a single service and control plane to manage their container placements in the Regions AWS, AWS Outposts, AWS Wavelengths, AWS Local Zones, and customer-owned infrastructures, both in their data centers and in edge locations.Nothing else in the industry does that . “
