Ballymore winner Bob Olinger has been ruled out of his long-awaited chase debut in Punchestown today due to a stone-blue mark.

The six-year-old had an almost spotless campaign for Henry de Bromhead last season, winning the Grade 1 Lawlor’s Of Naas Novice Hurdle before hitting Cheltenham under Rachael Blackmore.

He was the long odds-on favorite for the 2m3½f beginner chase (12.00), which opens the map with seven races in Punchestown. French Dynamite, which also runs in the Robcour colors, is now the favorite.

Saturday racecards and betting

Six races are set to be shown live on ITV from Cheltenham, and Zanza has been backed 9-1 (from 11-1 overall) to strike out in the Paddy Power Gold Cup (2.15) feature for coach Philip Hobbs.

The seven-year-old finished third in the Haldon Gold Cup in Exeter on his seasonal comeback and steps up to two and a half miles for the first time under Tom O’Brien, who beat Coole Cody last year.

The market is led by Al Dancer, who had 25-1 when the bet opened, but which has been gradually shortened to 6-1 for coach Sam Thomas. There has also been some support for Midnight Shadow, which has been backed to 9-1 after opening at 12-1 with bet365 today.
