The overall winner of this year’s awards was Steve Liddiard, who took the highest prize for his dramatic portrayal of the Gower Peninsula’s Whiteford Point Lighthouse. Mr Liddiard explained the history of his chosen subject and said: “The lighthouse was built in 1865 after a design by John Bowen, of Llanelli, to mark the shoal at Whiteford Point, replacing a previously imposed structure from 1854, of which nothing remains.”

“It is the only corrugated iron tower of this size in Britain,” he added.
