Enjoy the Many Benefits of Travel Blogging
I have been blogging for more than 5 years now and in that time, I cannot believe that a large number of people are starting their own blog for some reason or the other. It seems that blogging in all forms has become the latest craze around the world, and with very good reason.
Over ten million travel blogs showed up at the last count I found online! Out of those millions, it is estimated that only a few thousand are long term, committed and very serious bloggers. They are something that can earn income and/or other incentives from blogging.
Recently, I have been approached by many people regarding starting their own blog for profit. They think like most people that it’s a really good idea to make money and/or other opportunities.
Well that’s certainly true, but I thought I’d offer my input on this after several dedicated years on a part-time basis, and what to expect if you choose to start your own blog for this purpose.
blogging for a specific purpose
Every day, I follow and read some amazing blogs that keep inspiring me. At the same time, I am also dismayed about the number of fraudsters, misleaders and get rich quick planners who are ruining it for our genuine bloggers.
It has become very easy for me now to find those blogs which are not genuine and their sole purpose is to earn money fast.
I have recently been a victim of copyright protection by doing a Google search of my articles. Websites are actually copying my hard work and posting on fake websites with advertisements. This is one of the things to keep in mind when starting your blog.
Also, my Facebook blog page was recently compromised, causing about 3000 followers to be lost. I’ve had to start all over again, which is a very frustrating thing, but it’s just one more of those things that can happen to you too.
However, I enjoy reading other people’s blogs, regardless of their niche. The ones that are genuine, speak from personal experience and provide the informational material I’m really looking for.
I’ve gathered so many useful tips and advice from these blogs over the years and am grateful that they are there for us to discover. This has always been my main purpose of blogging and still is today.
Blogging for a real purpose is great and travel is one of the many great benefits of blogging.
Whether it is for business or to earn a little extra income, sponsorship opportunities, product or service advertisements, or just as a personal diary. There is no better or cheaper way to reach the world than having your own blog.
See my recent article here 📸 Reasons to start a travel blog, for those who have always wanted to but aren’t sure where to start. Below are some tips I’ve learned from others for those interested in travel blogging for profit.
Blogging for profit is a commitment
I am running my blog here since 2012. The travel blog I started earlier Gr8 Travel Tips Was only used as a learning experience for about a year.
Like starting any new business, I had to learn how to write a quality article, search and learn what (SEO) search engine optimization is, open social media accounts, interact with others on line and yes, much more. some!
I still learn new things every day and the most important lesson I’ve learned to date is to be honest, personal and not fake or deceptive!
I have chosen probably the hardest type of blog to make money or get noticed on, and that is a travel blog. There are literally millions of travel blogs or websites out there, but travel is my passion and I was never interested in making money anyway.
I wanted to gradually develop a quality travel blog that people would enjoy and focus on for themselves, eventually doing business in the travel sector. My main goal was the possibility to develop sponsorship/partner opportunities with these businesses.
It has taken many years of hard work and commitment, but the rewards have been tremendous. I remember my first sponsorship opportunity with a major hotel chain which hosted a wonderful 2 night stay my wife and I had at their property.
I was thrilled beyond belief!
It was like finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel for those long hours devoted to developing a quality authority travel blog.
Set yourself blogging goals
If you are interested in travel blogging, ready to spend endless hours and years for your blog for that matter, then there is light at the end of the tunnel for your hard work and devotion. You can set goals for yourself and if you are determined, you can go as far as you want.
If you think you can make big dollars overnight with little effort, don’t waste your precious time!
what to do blogging
✔ Follow and learn from leading bloggers in your niche;
✔ Learn about Search Engine Optimization (SEO);
✔ Open social media accounts and interact with others in your niche;
✔ Write informative and high quality articles;
✔ Choose an attractive theme for your blog to match your style (WordPress is a great start and free!);

Don’t expect to make money or rewards in a short amount of time;
Don’t post nonsense on your blog;
Don’t burden your blog with advertising;
Don’t use those annoying pop up subscribe windows;
Don’t buy anything that sounds too good to be true that promises to make your blog the best it can be.
my pet pee from blogging
when i saw brand new blog With literally thousands of followers on my social media accounts, it really annoys me to know that these are not real followers. They are either; traded, purchased or collected in any other unnatural way or in any other manner.
I knew right away that these blogs are not real and I will not go to them!
Stealing other people’s work is also difficult, but a reality with those fake bloggers all over the world turning out to be only for profit. As mentioned earlier, I have seen my articles on the Internet more than once that have been copied and pasted on these bogus sites.
Do not do this!
Benefits of Travel Blogging – Huge Rewards
Blogging has great rewards if you are willing to put a lot of hard work and effort into it, like any business. People who think they can make money in a short amount of time or get sponsored easily are dreaming!
When looking for potential bloggers to promote their product or service, professional marketing and media managers can spot fakes easily.
Be genuine, write honestly, work hard, don’t worry about traffic numbers and things will happen and opportunities will eventually come your way!
I am living proof of this! 🙂
I am a part time Baby Boomer blogger who loves to travel and also read about the adventures of other bloggers from my blog.
Successful travel blogging requires travel
In closing here, a very important aspect of running a successful travel blog is that it requires you to travel and experience exactly the kind of travel you are writing about.
It takes a lot of time to plan, research, coordinate, schedule and ultimately travel to your chosen destination. After all, isn’t this travel blog about?
But above all, enjoy it and don’t be afraid to express your personal opinion and experience. That’s what people really want to read and what are just a sampling of the benefits of travel blogging, that’s all. Offering good, personal thoughts and opinions People aren’t the only ones searching for advertising.
I know I do!
I still have a long way to go, but I’m excited about the benefits of travel blogging in the future. Businesses, both large and small, are really taking notice and becoming more aware of the huge benefits that serious bloggers can give them!
Safe and healthy trips! 🙂
