Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s 12-year rule will come to an end as Israel’s opposition parties have agreed to form a new government. Under a rotation agreement, the head of the right-wing Yamina party, Naftali Bennett, would serve as prime minister until 2023, then hand over to the centrist party leader Yair Lapid. In a statement Mr. Lapid pledged to make the new government work for all citizens. “It will respect its opponents and will do everything in its power to unite and connect all parts of Israeli society,” the statement said.
