Washington: Former United States President Bill Clinton was hospitalized in California with a suspected blood infection, CNN reported on Friday AEDT.
CNN said Clinton, 75, was in the intensive care unit, primarily to give him privacy, and he was not on a breathing machine, according to doctors who treated the former president of the University of California Irvine Medical Center, California.
“On Tuesday night Former President Bill Clinton was admitted to UCI Medical Center for the treatment of a non-COVID infection, Clinton’s spokesman Angel Urena said on Twitter.
“He is in a good way, in a good mood and incredibly grateful that doctors, nurses and staff give him excellent care,” said Urena.
Clinton’s doctors, Dr Alpesh Amin and Dr Lisa Bardack, said in a statement that he was “admitted to hospital for close monitoring and administered IV antibiotics and fluids”.
“He remains in the hospital for continuous monitoring,” the doctors’ statement added.
“After two days of treatment, the number of white blood cells decreases and he responds well to antibiotics.”
They added: “We hope to get him home soon.”
His condition is not related to his previous heart problems either covid-19, On CNN.
