Bill Clinton hospitalized

Former United States President Bill Clinton was admitted to the University of California Irvine Medical Center Intensive Care Unit for a non-Covid-related infection.

“He was admitted to the ICU for close monitoring and administered IV antibiotics and fluids. He remains in the hospital for continuous monitoring,” according to a joint statement Thursday night from Dr. Alpesh Amin, medical chair at UC Irvine Medical Center, and Dr. Lisa Bardack , Clinton’s personal primary care physician.

“After two days of treatment, his white blood cell count decreases and he responds well to antibiotics,” the doctors said, adding, “We hope to get him home soon.”

Clinton’s spokesman Angel Urena said the former president was “on the mend” and “in a good mood”.

“On Tuesday night, President Clinton was admitted to UCI Medical Center for treatment for a non-Covid-related infection. He is in good health and is incredibly grateful to the doctors, nurses and staff who provide him with excellent care,” said Urena.
