They worked together on “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”, now it seems that Bill Murray is collaborating with actor Paul Rudd for another feature which is also Murray’s first Marvel Studios title.
In an interview with the German newspaper, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (via Variety), Murray has apparently slipped that he will make an appearance in Peyton Reed’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”, which is currently in production. He tells the outlet:
“I made a Marvel movie recently. I can probably not tell you about it, but it does not matter. In any case, some people were very surprised why I decided on such a project of all.
But for me it was very clear: I met the director – and I really liked him. He was funny, humble, anything you want from a director.
And with the cheerleading story “Bring It On – Girls United”, he made a movie years ago that I think is damn good. So I accepted, even if I was not otherwise interested in these huge BD adaptations as an actor. “
Murray does not name the new “Ant-Man” movie by name, but his comments seem to confirm Reed’s involvement. He also says straight away that he has no intention of returning to the Marvel universe:
“Let’s put it this way: the director is a good guy, and now I’m at least trying to make a Marvel movie. But I do not think I need this experience a second time.
“Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” is set to hit theaters in July 2023.
