Boris Johnson has urged caution when easing the lockdown on June 21, even though Britain did not have a single day of coronavirus deaths yesterday.
The prime minister said today that he still sees no reason why the road map out of restrictions would need to be delayed.
However, he cautioned that there was still “vague” data on whether vaccines would protect against a new surge of infections.
“We have to be very cautious,” Johnson said. “We need to work out the extent to which the vaccination program has adequately protected those of us, especially the elderly and vulnerable, against a new surge, and there I fear the data is still unclear. .
