Administrators at Brookline High School said they plan to increase supervision during passing periods in the coming days.
A Brookline High School student was assaulted while walking between school buildings Monday, school officials and Brookline police said in a statement.
The student was walking between the Brookline Public School buildings on Tappan Street around 1 p.m. when a man inappropriately touched her, statement said. She notified school officials who contacted Brookline police, authorities said.
“We ask students to be aware of their surroundings as they move around our campus,” Brookline Public Schools Superintendent Linus Guillory said. “While BHS is a secure campus, our high school complex consists of multiple buildings and students move on public streets. Students, staff and all community members are encouraged to be aware of their surroundings at all times and report any suspicious activity to any school personnel.”
Guillory said administrators plan to increase supervision when students travel between classes. Brookline police are investigating the incident and have not identified a suspect yet, according to the statement.
