The saga of the Dallas Cowboys and CeeDee Lamb took an unfortunate turn when the star wide receiver was placed on the Reserve/Did Not Report list on Tuesday. While the move was said to be transactional to allow injuries to be dealt with on the 90-man training camp roster, things have taken another dramatic turn.
Longtime Cowboys beat writer Jon Machota fired off a post on X using a quote from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones in response to the current contract issues with Lamb.
The post from Machota reads:
“Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on CeeDee Lamb contract talks: ‘I’m in no rush to get it done.’
The quote is typical of the typically dogged responses Jones has issued in recent months about the contract issues for Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott. Now it seems Lamb has caught wind of the quote and responded in kind.
Lamb simply responded with “lol.”
It appears that Jones and Lamb (and his representation) may not be close to reaching a deal at all.
