Chelsea booked their place in the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2014 despite losing 1-0 against FC Porto on Tuesday night in Seville.

Thomas Tuchel’s men advanced despite a stoppage-time goal from Mehdi Taremi at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán to head into the last four, which will see them face Real Madrid or Liverpool.

A statistic shared by OptaJoe after last night’s Champions League quarter-finals will make for some very interesting reading for Chelsea fans.

Chelsea are two games away from the Champions League final, and according to OptaJoe reveal, no English club has ever been at this stage more than the Blues.

The blues overtook. Manchester United’s record of seven last night, but with the Red Devils having won the competition three times, and Chelsea’s 2012 triumph being their only to date, United fans won’t be overly disappointed.
