CHICAGO DEMOCRAT TAKES HEAT TO WARN OF OVER-REPORTING CRIME
The Prada theft is part of an ongoing disturbing crime trend in Chicago, and comes as about 50,000 visitors descend on the city to attend in the DNCAugust 19-22.
During the Fourth of July weekend last month, the city made the announcement 19 people were killed and over 100 were injured by gunfire.
While homicides have declined in Chicago since 2020, sexual assault, robbery, battery, theft, and motor vehicle theft have all increased.
