Three Chimneys announced today that the future Hall of Famer Container will be bred for the Leading Sire Gun Runner for the 2022 breeding season.

One of the greatest race jumpers of all time and the recipient of the coveted Eclipse Award four times – Champion 2-year-old filly, Champion 3-year-old filly, and Champion senior mare twice – compiled a record of 18 victories and 6 seconds from 26 starts with career earnings at $ 6,156,600. The remarkable mare achieved unprecedented 10 class 1 victories and is one of only two mares in Breeders’ Cup history to have won three times. She is a unique artist on the field and boasts perhaps the most prominent pedigree in the pedigree at the moment. She is the half-sister of both superfather Into Mischief and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf winner and promising young father Mendelssohn.

“Container is the crown jewel of an extraordinary book for Gun Runner. The entire Gun Runner team is excited and grateful that she’s coming. Three Chimneys will roll the red carpet for her,” said Doug Cauthen, managing partner at Doug Cauthen Thoroughbred Management LLC., And vice president of Three Chimneys.

Horse of the Year Gun Runner is on its way to one of the most notable starts on a stud career in recent times. He is the father of 5 individual bet winners. The undefeated and undisputed Echo Zulu marked itself as the best of its generation by collecting Class 1 victories in the Spinaway, Frizette and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. Gun Runner’s other unique artists among his top 20 crop winners include G1 Hopeful Winner Gunite, G2 Best Pal winner and G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile second place Pappacap, G2 Adirondack winner Wicked Halo and stakes winner Concept.
