The Chicago Public Schools athletic director is out a few weeks into the new school year.
A CPS spokesman on Tuesday confirmed that David Rosengard was no longer with the district, but shared few other details.
Rosengard’s departure was was first reported by the Chicago Sun-Times.
Ald. Jeanette Taylor, 20th, who chairs the City Council’s education committee, said she hoped Rosengard’s successor would help bring exercise facilities like running tracks and soccer fields to schools that lack them.
“I hope that whoever is his replacement does their due diligence to work with the Chicago Park District and CPS and the City Council to make sure these young people get what they actually need,” she said.
No interim director has yet been appointed, the spokesperson said.
