‘Danger!’ competitor Matt Amodio won $1 million in Game 28

LOS ANGELES — “Danger!” competitor Matt Amodio made history on Friday, becoming only the third person on the syndicated game show to raise over $1 million during non-tournament play.

Amodio is a Ph.D. The student from Connecticut reached the milestone after earning $48,800 in his 28th episode. He has collected $1,004,001 in total winnings since this game.

“This was beyond my wildest dreams to get in,” he said. “I knew it was a possibility, but I thought it was a very remote possibility, and it’s incredible that it actually happened.”

Ken Jennings and James Holzhauer are other names who earned more than $1 million during the regular season. Jennings holds the record for regular season wins, earning $2,520,700 in 74 games. Holzhauer raised $2,462,216 in 32 games in 2019.

Brad Rutter currently all-time earnings recordfrom $4,938,436, which includes tournament shows.
