MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Nonito Donner challenged Father Time with a vintage performance, beating Nordin Opali to win the WBC Championship Sunday (Manila time) in Carson, California.

The 38-year-old Donner became the oldest bantamotte champion in boxing history and the French-Moroccan suffered his first loss.

Donner beat Obali three times – with the final knockout arriving in the fourth round – prompting the referee to stop the fight as the “Filipino Flash” dominated from start to finish.

The first two knockouts occurred in the third round as Donner unloaded the sinister left hooks that Oubaali had been sampling the cloth.
