Xtratime Web Desk:
The situation is really very uncertain when it comes to India’s fight against Corona. Every day the number of infected people increases many times over. On average, 4lakh of people across India are affected daily. Even the Coronavirus is able to penetrate the strongest biological bubble the BCCI has set up for the current Indian Super League (IPL 2021, Indian T-20 League). On Monday, five cases of coronavirus infection were recorded from inside the bubble. Tuesday I reported two cases. The situation was worrisome. The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry had to intervene to remedy the situation.

Finally, they announced Tuesday that while taking into consideration the safety and health of the cricketers participating in the 14th edition of the IPL, it has been postponed indefinitely. Now that puts a dangerous cloud of uncertainty over the fate of the T-20I World Cup that was due to be held in India next year. It is well known that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has asked the United Arab Emirates and Sri Lanka to prepare in case of an emergency.

Now that the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry has had to postpone the IPL, many believe that the World Cup scheduled for October-November will be moved to the UAE. Although the International Criminal Court has not announced anything official regarding this matter. They are now playing a wait-and-see policy because they have very little time on hand before calling the final shots.
