Ed Kelce doesn’t want that recent comments he made about Kanye West’s mental health to be misinterpreted as criticism.
The father of the Super Bowl champion’s siblings Jason and Travis Kelce took to social media to clarify comments he made in response to the Grammy winner’s new song “Lifestyle,” which mentions Taylor Swift and beautiful Travis.
“I feel the need to clarify that my comment about Kanye West was not so much a criticism as it was my thoughts on his mental health,” the elder Kelce wrote in a Facebook posts Thursday afternoon. “His behaviors and comments beyond Taylor suggest a paranoia and exaggerated sense of self-worth.”
“This is a talented guy and hopefully he gets help with these issues,” Kelce concluded.
West, now legally known as Yehas previously claimed he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Kelce originally joined the chat on August 8 when, in response to an article about West’s new song, he wrote on social media: “Mental illness on full display.”
On “Lifestyle,” off the rapper’s recently released “Vultures 2,” Lil Wayne raps: “I twist my Taylor spliffs hard on the end like Travis Kelce.”
Swift and Ye have been embroiled in one on-again/off-again feud for more than a decade, ever since he interrupted her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards year 2009.
Years later, the Yeezy the designer took a swipe at Swift in his 2016 song “Famous”, where he rapped that he “made that b—h famous” and about the possibility of having sex with her.
After Swift publicly condemned the rapper who called her “that bra,” his then-wife Kim Kardashian came to his defense, releasing clips of a phone call without Swift’s consent which seemingly showed the “Reputation” singer gave Ye her consent to use the line.
It wasn’t until that one the full phone call was released in 2020 that it became clear that Ye never told Swift about the “bra” line in question.
