With the match reaching a standstill, Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte sent ex-Tottenham player Eriksen, and the midfielder was made by Romelu Lukaku to shoot into the net through a deflection in the 69th minute, just four minutes after his introduction. Moroccan full back Achraf Hakimi added again late in a counter-attack in stoppage time to clinch victory and rule Crotone’s fate after the club was officially relegated from the Italian Serie A.

Inter Milan’s title will be confirmed as Serie A champion if Atalanta fails to defeat Sassuolo on Sunday. If Atalanta defeats Sassuolo, Inter need only one point to be mathematically crowned champion of Italy, ending Juventus’ 9-year reign.
