Patriots
“They have studs at every level, they are so well coached.”
ESPN analyst Mina Kimes praised Patriots‘ defense on Thursday’s episode of “First Take” in a preview before the team’s Week 3 matchup against the Jets.
“One of the most sleeper units in the entire NFL is this Patriots defense,” she said. “They are real, they have studs at every level, they are so well coached.”
Analyst Dan Orlovsky chimed in and named Jabrill Peppers, Kyle Dugger and Keion White, who has four sacks just two games into the season and is hailed as a defensive star in the making. Kimes then called out, “Keion White, you guys.”
Although New England’s defense put up a good fight against Seattle in Sunday’s home opener, it wasn’t enough to win. After a shocking Week 1 upset against the Bengals and a disappointing overtime loss to the Seahawks, Patriots take on the Jets at 20.15 on Thursday. Both teams have a record of 1-1 so far.
Aaron Rodgers struggled in his first game of the season facing a stout 49ers defense. The Patriots will look to slow him down in a similar fashion, taking pressure off their own offense that has been underwhelming for two weeks.
“I see this game being close and ugly,” Kimes said, “exactly how New England wants it.”
