PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A memorial service was held for mother and son on Sunday Killed by a car while walking home on West Oak Lane. With memories and tears, family and friends opened up to Eyewitness News.
“When I let go of the balloon and saw all the balloons go up, it hit me,” said Robetta Jackson, a family friend.

Those who knew and loved Dominique Young El and her 7-year-old son, Auntione Terry, gathered to say goodbye where they were hit and killed by a car last week.
“I want to thank each and every one of you one by one for coming to help me and my family,” one woman said.
The two died Wednesday after a driver walked onto the pavement after police said he had a medical emergency. The impact pushed the two people several meters down the street.
“I can’t tell you how I felt,” said Dominique’s aunt, Nicole Young-El. “Because all I’m feeling right now is pain and hurt.”

Eyewitness News was the only station on watch at 17th and Haines Streets where the accident occurred. The family says its importance is simple.
“This will be marked forever,” said Nicole Young-El.
They find joy in their grief. He entered the step team left behind by his 11-year-old daughter, Young El.
It’s the little moments like these that they can endure as they try to figure out what’s next.
