VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Sunday night, a crowd of people had heavy hearts as they mourned the loss of a loved one taken too soon.
Early Wednesday morning, Fransico Bisono and Shawn Babonis were killed in a crash on Shipps Corner Road in Virginia Beach.
They were passengers in the car. The driver, Adam Cieniewicz, fled the scene and was later arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Michelle Bisono told 10 On Your Side that her son was affectionately called “Kiko” and called him a kind soul who could help anyone in need.
Through tears, she took us back to the moment she found out he was gone.
“Thankfully there is a very sweet coroner and coroner who said it’s not protocol but he understands because it’s multiple people and he went and took a picture because I know my son’s hands. He took a picture of it and I could see his hand and I know it was my son, she said.
Moving forward, she wants to contact the city so they can take more precautions around Shipps Corner Road so a tragedy like this never happens again.
