A battle at a popular tailgate location Detroit Lions was fatally injured Sunday after the team fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Ford Field in Michigan.
One person was killed and another was in critical condition after the fight in Eastern Market — a neighborhood just blocks from the stadium, officials said. Detroit Police Chief James White said a man in his 30s was arrested, according to the report Detroit News.

“Quit, drinking and guns. They don’t mix,” White said, according to the excerpt. “It’s ridiculous. If you’re going to fight, fight.
“Everybody has to have a gun. It makes them feel tough. And now we have two people shot and one dead, and another suspect who will face serious charges, probably murder.”
White said two people involved in the fight began to get into a fighting stance when the suspect pulled out a gun and fired at least two shots. One person was fatally shot and the other was taken to hospital.

White said officers working the area of the game responded to the scene and immediately arrested the suspect.
“A big fight broke out (which) broke up after a few minutes,” White said. “They regrouped a few meters away from where the first fight started.
“The two fighters raised their hands as if they were going to fight each other… one of the people in the fight, an Oak Park man, pulls out a gun and fires at least twice. Two people were hit.”
Police said they recovered two guns from the scene, according to the report FOX 2 Detroit.

It was not clear what the issue was that started the fight. White pointed to a “lack of conflict resolution”. He said the suspect had a permit to carry a weapon.
