Cornell University has reintroduced the evil Jew-hating professor Russell Rickfordwho applauded the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust – and New York Governor Kathy Hochul was at her worst in response.
This is what “history” prof Rickford said of Hamas’ atrocities on October 7: “It was exciting, it was energizing. . . I was excited.”
Words fit for a Nazi.
Here is what Hochul had her flat tell The Post about Rickford’s academic rehabilitation: “Gov. Hochul has repeatedly condemned the brutal terrorist attacks by Hamas on October 7 and finds any glorification of this brutality outrageous and unacceptable.”
Words fit for a bowl of oatmeal.
Rickford later partially apologized, and now he’s back teaching the kids of America’s elite at upstate Ivy.
God knows what he assigns as reading material. Old issues of Der Stürmer? “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion”?
Cornell is a private school; it can employ and shift statements like this as it pleases.
But it’s getting $127 million in state funding, and that’s where Hochul is bark strike it — if she had the moral courage to do anything beyond giving toothless statements.
No matter how alert a school is, monetary pain always seems to bring sanity among its administrators — as witness the departure of Cornell’s disgraced former president Martha Pollackwas ousted in part because donors rebelled.
Plus, as Hochul is from the office a member of Cornell’s board—so she can push for a new prez (it has an acting one now) who can put the school on course for a future that doesn’t include faculty bigots like Rickford.
But we see little hope of more than unspoken dirt from her on this subject: Look at what she has allowed her state to become.
In New York City, the center of Jewish life globally outside of Israel, a massive pro-Hamas demonstration celebrating the murder of the hostage took place this month.
Jews are openly persecuted, harassed, intimidated and assaulted on university campuses and elsewhere by the new brownshirts.
This madness will only get worse as long as high officials like Hochul refuse to crack down on it.
It’s time to show some backbone, gov.
