A five-alarm fire raged for hours at a tire repair shop in Queens Tuesday, injuring one firefighter, officials said.
The FDNY said it received a call around 5:14 p.m. about a fire at Liberty Ave. and Tuckerton St. in Jamaica, which quickly escalated.
It took nearly 200 firefighters and paramedics more than three hours to extinguish the fire, which was under control by 9 p.m., according to FDNY officials.
No civilians were injured; one firefighter suffered a minor injury and was being treated, the FDNY said Tuesday night.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, says a press officer from the FDNY.
