Five people were injured Friday night in a car crash involving a stolen vehicle in Edison Park, according to Chicago Police.
A 21-year-old man with three passengers was driving at high speeds in a stolen vehicle and was being monitored by a police helicopter, police said. He lost control of the vehicle and crashed into another vehicle with a woman driving near the 7600 Block of West Touhy Avenue at about 10:35 p.m., according to police.
The driver of the stolen vehicle suffered spinal and leg injuries and was taken to Lutheran Hospital in critical condition, and the other four involved were taken to area hospitals for minor injuries, police said.
Officers recovered a gun, and detectives are investigating. Police say charges are pending and traffic citations will be issued.
