FTC report shows ‘staggering’ amount of personal data collected on social media – CBS News
The FTC ordered nine companies to provide information about their data collection practices. According to the report, through targeted ads on and off these platforms, they collect information such as marital status, annual income, health status and religious beliefs, but do not provide easy ways for users to opt out of data collection.
