Cambus Medical combines roles in engineering, quality, manufacturing, customer operations and administration
Combus Medical/Freudenberg Medical has announced plans to create more than 40 skilled jobs as part of a €1.9 million expansion work at its facility in En Spidel in Connemara Geltach.
This significant expansion will represent a more than 60% increase in manufacturing footprint for the Gaeltacht medical device company, which plans to grow to more than 170 employees by the end of 2021. The jobs created will be in specialized areas of engineering, quality, manufacturing. , Customer Operations and Administration. The announcement has been welcomed by Daras na Geltachata.
Freudenberg Medical Joint Venture Partner Cambus Medical has extensive experience in providing precision hypotube, specialty needle and metal micro-component solutions to the medical device industry and supports a global customer base.
The grant for the expansion was approved by the board of darás na Gaeltachta as part of the Irish government’s COVID-19 jobs stimulus package. The 2,088-square-metre expansion will provide additional production/manufacture space and administration offices at En Spedial in Connemara to the company’s existing substantial facilities where recruitment for new jobs is already underway.
The upgrade will provide Cambus Medical/Freudenberg Medical the opportunity to exceed previous capacity limits, develop new manufacturing capabilities, and explore new business opportunities and secure new customers.
