Graduate Cambridge: First look at Cambridge’s new hotel with stunning riverside views

It is the first hotel to open in Europe with a new establishment in Oxford from the ‘Graduate Hotels’ chain in the USA.

At the old site of the Double Tree by Hilton, Cambridge The hotel was due to open earlier this year after a complete interior renovation.

New restaurant headed by Garden House award-winning chef Adam Woodopened on September 10.

The hotel’s design is based on “storytelling,” which pays homage to Cambridge’s rich history, including a DNA installation hanging in the lobby, in memory of Rosalind Franklin, who helped uncover the secrets of DNA at the university.

Splashes of “Cambridge Blue” adorn the guest rooms, there are “bedside built-ins repurposed as jogger boats” and wood and leather tables to give rooms a “hardworking feel.”

Having established itself in the region, Graduate Cambridge has also partnered with a number of our favorite organisations.

Collaborated with Scudamore’s to offer afternoon tea and a special gambling experience.

Another collaboration with Cambridge Distillery will see the hotel organize a ticketed ‘Gin Dinner’ with paired courses designed by Adam Wood to complement the gin notes.

In November, in partnership with the Cambridge Jazz Festival, the hotel will host a jazz event with dinner and a show at the Garden House followed by regular live music nights.

Dog lovers will be pleased to note that the Garden House is kicking off “yappy hour” with the Wood Green The Animals Charity to encourage guests to bring their four-legged friends for their stay.
