A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of his 76-year-old grandmother, Cynthia Lanchester, according to Attorney General John M. Formella and New Hampshire State Police Col. Mark B. Hall.
On Saturday around 11:41 a.m., police say 911 officers received a call for a medical emergency at 44 North Peak Drive in Easton, New Hampshire.
When emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found Cynthia Lanchester lying on the ground dead, according to the statement.
Officers noticed she appeared to be suffering from some type of blunt force trauma wound, officials said.
Police found Joshua Lanchester, 23, at the scene and arrested him, according to the statement. Officials said he is the victim’s grandson.
Joshua Lanchester was charged with one count of second-degree murder, according to the statement. He is currently being held without bail.
His arraignment is expected Monday in 2nd Circuit Court-District Division in Littleton.
