Harris County says woman shot multiple times in Cypress Station neighborhood

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A man wanted for the murder of his ex-girlfriend assaulted her in May and threatened to kill her last month, according to court documents.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for 29-year-old Cameron Davis for the murder of Ryniscia Sanford.

The 27-year-old mother of five was shot multiple times Thursday morning at an apartment complex at Cypress Station in northern Harris County. Eyewitnesses said the two were arguing.

Sanford’s mother told ABC13 that their relationship was back and forth and that Davis had been abusive to her for months.

“He pulled a gun on me when I came to live with him, and that’s what brought me out of Texas and back to Louisiana,” his mother said. “I kept telling her to break up with him, but she’s 27. She’s grown up. I can’t say anything to her.”

In one version, the sheriff’s office said Sanford was “engaged in an ongoing domestic situation” with Davis.

Court records show that Davis was charged with assaulting Sanford in May. He told lawmakers that he hit him “10 times in the face” after breaking up with him. In August, he was charged with retaliation after he allegedly threatened to kill her.

Davis, who already has a violent criminal history, was never arrested on domestic charges.

“He’s very dangerous and armed,” said Teneera, Sanford’s cousin. “We don’t want this to happen to anyone else.”

This investigation comes just 24 hours after an unrelated double murder at the exact same location, 910 Cypress Station.

On Friday night, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez asked the public to “beware” of Davis.

Anyone with information is advised to call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-221-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
