BRENTWOOD (BCN) – A 27-year-old Hayward woman died when her car skidded off the road and collided with a fence in Brentwood early Sunday, police said.
Brentwood officers responded to a report of a solo vehicle collision at 1:40 a.m. on Concord Avenue and Bacchini Lane.

Preliminary investigation determined that an eastbound vehicle on Concord Street broke off the highway and collided with a wooden split-rail fence.
The female passenger in the vehicle died in the collision. The police withhold his name until news comes from his relatives.

The driver of the vehicle was seriously injured and was taken to a nearby hospital.
Investigations continue into the cause of the collision and what factors may have contributed to it.
Police estimated that Concord Avenue would remain closed until 9am.
